Responsible Gaming

This page sets out what this site does and does not do around gambling, and where genuine controls and support actually live. It covers the help links carried on every page, the age restriction repeated through this build, and the practical limits of a site made of static pages.

Keeping Gambling Manageable: practical habits

The following habits are general practice and worth applying regardless of where you play. Each one exists to keep gambling contained to money and time you have already decided to give up, rather than letting a session decide that for you.

  • Decide the amount before starting. Setting a figure while you are calm gives you something firm to hold to once a session gets exciting or frustrating.
  • Treat that amount as already spent. Thinking of it as gone from the outset removes the pressure to "win it back" and lets you walk away when it runs out.
  • Never chase a loss. Increasing a stake to recover an earlier one usually compounds the loss rather than fixing it, because the odds have not changed in your favour.
  • Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Money that is already owed elsewhere turns a loss into a debt problem on top of a gambling one.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away regularly interrupts the momentum that makes it easy to lose track of time and spending.
  • Involve someone else early. Speaking to a partner, friend or one of the organisations below while gambling is still entertainment is far easier than doing so once it is not.

Age Limits and Operator Terms: repeated notices

This build repeats an eighteen-and-over restriction throughout the site, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Each of the ten operator listings also closes with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. Nothing on this page changes or enforces either of those notices; they are statements repeated in the text of the build itself.

What This Site Can and Cannot Do: account controls

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This build has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check its status or enforce it. Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens at the destination you reach after following an operator link. This site also carries no advertising or behavioural profiling network, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on prior gambling behaviour.

Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site: each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that moment the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published here.

Independent Help Organisations: where the links sit

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au, and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, are set to nofollow, and open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of them.
